An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth
I want to spread the awareness of the impact that global warming has on or planet Earth by informing the public about a must see documentary called “An Inconvenient Truth” by former Vice-President Al Gore. I became aware of the documentary during a recent trip to Washington D.C. for a conference where I met a lady from California who is an activist for global warming prevention and she was in D.C. to further the agenda for her grass-roots organization. We discussed a variety of topics related to global warming and one of the most noteworthy is the fact that the American auto makers are in bed with the oil industry. My intent is not push a political agenda but to inform the public that global warming is moral issue. Global warming has an impact on everyone’s life either directly or indirectly and this impact not only affects climate change but also the future of our food resources and public health as new diseases emerge and spread worldwide.
“An Inconvenient Truth” is fantastic and incredibly moving. Al Gore is not that boring guy who ran for President (and served as Vice-President). He is phenomenal in this documentary. There is hard data and sound scientific evidence that global warming is taking place, particularly in the last 35 years. And I must say that even since my high school days, there have been dramatic changes in climate, with milder winters and hotter summers. My point is that even though I have contributed to the problem, I am going to be part of the solution to make it better by the way I choose to live. If we take the approach by making small changes in our lives, we can reverse global warming. As Al says in the documentary, "We can change person by person".
So I recommend "An Inconvenient Truth" to all of you. Viewing the documentary is easy and can be either purchased on-line (http://www.climatecrisis.net/) rented from your favorite movie store. "An Inconvenient Truth" is not boring by any means. I had a few beers and Al had my utmost attention. I was fascinated. I encourage you to check it out and see if you favorite movie store carries the documentary. If not, tell them to stock it. I rented it from Blockbuster. Thanks for taking the time to read this email blog. Take Care, Genevieve

  1. Sorry, but I disagree. I believe Al Gore is a dangerous man who happens to have made a lot of money out of the perceived global climate crisis. There is no balance and only selected scientists were used; there are an equal number of scientists who refute the whole concept of 'global warming' which was retitled to 'climate change' when the zealots realised that the planet wasn't actually getting warmer. Having said that, I am all for respecting our planet, reducing the decimation of rain forests and limiting CO2 gases sensibly.
